Hidden Springs' open space program manages and maintains the wetlands, uplands, trails, orchard and farm on more than 800 acres of open space enjoyed by local residents and regional trail users.
The open space is held in a Conservation Easement and is planned to remain as a natural area with recreational and agricultural uses. Open Space program efforts include:
- Enhancing two large jurisdictional wetlands.
- Returning selected upland areas to native vegetation.
- Developing community trails.
- Native plant demonstration garden.
- Dry Creek tree walk.
- Raptor perches & nesting boxes.
- Enhancing a 350-tree fruit orchard.
- Small farm with locally, naturally-grown produce.
- Restoring a historic farmstead.
- Community environmental education: bird watching, nature walks, kids’ activities, speaker programs.
